Cada año, aceptamos un máximo de 120 de los estudiantes más motivados y familias comprometidas del Distrito Escolar Franklin-McKinley y el Distrito Escolar Unificado de San José (un máximo de 60 estudiantes por distrito). 

Al seleccionar a los estudiantes, buscamos una solicitud bien redactada que refleje el deseo de aprender, crecer y progresar a demas de tener un buen historial academico. Nuestro comité de selección también considera los grados de los estudiantes y las recomendaciones de sus maestros para evaluar nuestra capacidad de satisfacer las necesidades académicas del estudiante. Todos los estudiantes aceptados deben demostrar la necesidad de un programa gratuito.

Si la solicitud de su estudiante cumple con nuestros estándares de solicitud, los invitaremos a usted y a su hijo/hija a una entrevista a mediados de Abril. Esta entrevista consiste en entrevistas innovadoras tanto al estudiante como a los padres / tutores que solicitan el programa. Si se selecciona para entrevistar con Breakthrough, se le notificará su cita dos semanas antes de la entrevista. Expectativas de Breakthrough (Breakthrough Expectations)

En el transcurso de nuestro programa de siete años, Breakthrough trabaja en colaboración con cada familia para apoyar y preparer a nuestros estudiantes para el éxito en las universidades de cuatro años. Una familia tipica de Breakthrough se compromete a lo siguiente:
